The importance of Yemeni women police in the army and security tasks

The importance of Yemeni women police in the army and security tasks

The idea of involving women in security and military tasks came from the womb of suffering from the terrorist operations that Yemen faced, whose perpetrators were disguised as women and exploited the social immunity of women in the conservative Yemeni society, and the failure of security officers and soldiers to search women.

It was necessary to rehabilitate women and their participation in the security field. From here, the first batch of women's storming teams to combat terrorism, the Yemeni women's police, were recruited in 2007

Those women's storming teams were able to thwart many terrorist operations whose perpetrators intended to use women's clothing.. Female elements were also discovered working within terrorist cells.

Involving Yemeni women in the field of security and combating terrorism constituted a qualitative shift in the battle against terrorism, in organizing electoral campaigns, and in building civil society at the time when electoral processes were taking place.

The most recent of which was the consensual presidential elections.

Then came the next step, which was the acceptance of the first batch to enroll in the Police College, which constituted a more significant shift in expanding women's participation in security and police tasks and in the special forces.

Even their male colleagues stress the importance of women's presence in the field of security and crime-fighting, considering their complementary role to their role.. believe in the primary role of women in society because, without women's participation, society remains lame and unable to progress and move forward.

The Yemeni women's police play an important and pivotal role in maintaining security, maintaining order, and fighting crime. In the investigation of the female elements in any of the cases or irregularities or imbalances and in the storming of the homes of wanted security.

In light of the exceptional conditions in which Yemen has been living for eight years, women persistently exercise their role in the field of security, the police, and the fight against terrorism and crime.
